  Peru: Robbers board bulk carrier at Callao port 14 April Fiver robbers boarded a bulk carrier at 0445 hrs local time at Callao port. The robbers reportedly boarded the vessel using a rope attached to a hook, threatened and assaulted the AB crew on duty. Other crew members spotted the robbers and sounded the alarm. The robbers fled the vessel with stolen personal belongings upon hearing the alarm. The incident was reported to local authorities, who boarded the vessel for investigations.   PGI Analysis: There is a moderate threat to vessels at ports in Peru, partially due to opportunistic robberies targeting vessels at anchorages. Philippines: Robbers board tanker in Batangas anchorage 26 March Robbers boarded a Marshall Islands-flagged tanker anchored in Batangas Bay by breaking the padlock of the anchor chain pipe at 2030 hrs local time. Crew sighted the intruders and raised the alarm, prompting the robbers to jump overboard with a stolen ship bell. PGI Analysis: Petty thieves intermittently target vessels in the Batangas Bay area, although such incidents have been more common around Manila Anchorage. Robbers often target ships during the night to take advantage of reduced visibility. Dominican Republic: Robbers board oil tanker at San Pedro de Macoris Anchorage 21 March According to late reports, an unspecified number of robbers boarded an oil tanker at San Pedro de Macoris anchorage at about 0900 hrs local time. The robbers stole some of the ship's property and escaped. The incident was noticed during routine rounds. No further information regarding the incident was immediately available. PGI Analysis: There is a limited threat to vessels at ports in the Dominican Republic, including the risk of opportunistic robberies targeting vessels at anchorages.
