Mariners warned to exercise extra vigilance when transiting the waters off Eastern Sabah and Sulu-Celebes Seas   Ship masters and crew are urged to exercise extra vigilance when transiting the waters off Eastern Sabah and Sulu-Celebes Seas, Asian piracy watchdog said, due to a threat of being kidnapped by Abu Sayyaf Group. Aby Sayyaf is one of the most violent jihadist groups in the southern Philippines, notorious for kidnappings for ransom. Date Time: 10/10/2018 03:00:00 UTC Area: South America Status: PIRATE_ATTACK Lat: 10°13’ N Lon: 64°50’ W Detail: [Boarding/Robbery/Assault] LATE Report | While at anchor, five robbers with their faces covered and armed with large knives boarded Hong Kong-flagged tanker via the anchor chain and hawse pipe at 2300 LT in position 10:13N - 064:50W, Jose Anchorage, Venezuela. They held the duty deck patrol crew from behind, tied him up and threatened to kill him. They then escaped with some unsecured items. Africa’s Youngest Billionaire Abducted   Police are still searching for Mohammed Dewji, Africa’s youngest billionaire, who was abducted from the Colosseum Hotel and Fitness Club in Dar es Salaam on 11th October around his routine morning workout.   Police have arrested 12 people, including 2 foreign nationals, in connection with the kidnapping and have reported that Dewji, who is worth an estimated USD 1.5 bn, did not have a security detail at the time of the incident. At least two of the suspected abductors were white men according to the BBC. Although Tanzania has seen a wave attacks and abductions of opposition politicians and perceived government critics, this is the first time a businessman of Mr Dewji's standing has been kidnapped in the country.
